Charlie Popeck is the President of Green Ideas Environmental Building Consultants and is responsible for Business Development, Marketing and Educational Programs. Charlie is one of the first people in Arizona to be Accredited by the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional, and has been active in the Green Building community for many years. He is a member of the USGBC national organization, and served on the Steering Committee that was responsible for bringing a Chapter of the USGBC to Arizona. He is a founding member of the Arizona Chapter of the USGBC, and has held several leadership positions within the chapter including President, Vice President and Secretary.

As Chairman of the Arizona Chapter's Education Committee, Charlie's mission is to educate Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and other interested parties on the use of the LEED Green Building Rating System. He has advanced knowledge of the LEED program, and has trained over 50 companies and trade associations about LEED, sustainable products, material selection, and construction means and methods as they relate to Green Building and the LEED system. Charlie has a keen, fundamental understanding of the LEED Green Building Rating System, as well as hands-on field experience with Green Building products and installation techniques. Charlie is eager to share his experience with you and your company.

Charlie is a previously licensed California General Contractor, and holds a Construction Engineering and Management degree from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California. His education also includes a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis on Marketing from the University of Phoenix. His Construction business experience includes Senior Management level positions with various General Contractors in the capacity of Estimator / Project Manager and Vice President of Business Development. Charlie's Product experience includes Sales and Marketing Manager for a modular concrete formwork and accessory firm, and District Manager for a construction machinery manufacturer's distribution network. Additionally, Charlie has been Business Development, Sales, and Marketing Manager for a green building product company, and Director of Marketing and Business Development for a large Architectural firm.
